Four members of the construction and real estate group have earned their certified construction industry financial professionals (CCIFP) certification. "CCIFP is the only standard of its kind for construction financial people," notes CCIFP board member Mike Verbanic. Credentialed individuals may present themselves to the public as certified construction financial professionals.

"I am a CCIFP in order to provide a noticeably different level of commitment and service to my clients," notes LarsonAllen principal Emily Gunther, CPA, who will also become a board member for ICCIFP. She joins Craig Olsen, John O'Toole, and Darrel Mullenbach who have also achieved their CCIFP certification.

About the institute
The Institute of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals, Inc. is a nonprofit corporation established to promote the highest standards of construction financial management through the credentialing of construction financial professionals. It is a separately incorporated entity affiliated with the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) that issues credentials to individuals who successfully meet ICCIFP standards.

Only individuals who have the formal education and specific experience (4,000 hours of construction-related experience) are eligible to take the exam, which covers nine major content areas. The credential is good for three years and has a continuing education component, which includes construction-specific criteria.
