Information Security Services
Safeguarding your customers’ information has always
been important at your dealership. The FTC has
issued regulations that increase the importance of
protecting that information. LarsonAllen can help you
assess your dealership’s information security risks and
assist you in designing and implementing policies to
improve your controls over customer information. |
Is your dealership in compliance?
FTC safeguard requirements were effective May 23, 2003. The FTC requires that a written information security program be in place at every “financial institution” (this includes auto dealerships). Significant fines and penalties can be imposed for those dealerships not in compliance with the regulations.
Is your customers’ information really protected?
Securing customer information is not just a new regulation to comply with—protecting your customers’ private information makes good business sense. It can lead to competitive advantages in the marketplace and minimize the possibility of litigation at your dealership. Safeguarding the private information of your customers also demonstrates to your employees that you operate your business in an ethical manner.
