Steve Bass of Monson & Bass to Join LarsonAllen in Seattle

SEATTLE—October 26, 2011—Steve Bass, formerly of Monson & Bass, Inc., P.S. (Monson & Bass), will join LarsonAllen LLP (LarsonAllen) in its Seattle area location, effective November 1, 2011.

Bass and his former partner, Deidre Roberts, agreed to dissolve Monson & Bass as part of a long-term business succession plan with emphasis on continuity of service to clients. Roberts will go forward with a separate, dedicated tax practice (Roberts & Company CPAs, P.S.), while Bass and four of his staff members—Allen Gilbert, Chrystal Hernandez, Melanie Rudquist, and Jared Swisher—will move to LarsonAllen and expand their offerings and resources in a different direction.

“I wanted to be certain the people I serve and employ are reliably taken care of for years to come, and my particular practice is very compatible with LarsonAllen’s,” says Bass. “Joining with LarsonAllen not only solves the issues posed by future inevitabilities but also promises several benefits for my clients and people.”

“What’s so exciting is that we will be able to continue directly serving our clients but also bring them more expertise and tools.”

With a concentration in the health care, nonprofit, and construction industries, Bass’s practice is well augmented by LarsonAllen’s specialization in each of those fields. He cites involvement in the firm’s larger pool of industry-dedicated professionals as a notable enhancement to his client service and people development opportunities.

“What’s so exciting is that we will be able to continue directly serving our clients but also bring them more expertise and tools,” says Bass. “Adding sophisticated technological capabilities, advanced tax services like research and development credits and cost segregations studies, and LarsonAllen’s full menu of offerings will give my clients more ways to be successful.”

LarsonAllen is a top-20 CPA firm with more than 300 principals, approximately 1,800 people, and more than 45 locations across the country. The firm’s industry specialization enables it to consult more deeply with clients in health care, nonprofit and government, manufacturing, banking, credit unions, construction, real estate, dealerships, and agriculture, among others. Like Bass, the firm primarily serves individuals and small to mid-sized privately held businesses, government entities, and community-based nonprofits.
