Sibley & Co. PC Joins LarsonAllen in Dallas, Will Become CliftonLarsonAllen
DALLAS—November 28, 2011—Accounting firm Sibley & Company PC joined LarsonAllen LLP (LarsonAllen) in Dallas on November 1, 2011, according to Ken Sibley, owner and managing director of Sibley & Company. The firm will continue to operate under the Sibley name until January 2, 2012, when LarsonAllen and
Clifton Gunderson intend to merge to form the new firm of
CliftonLarsonAllen.
Sibley & Company, listed by the Dallas Business Journal in 2009 and 2010 as one of the Dallas’s 100 fastest growing private companies, had long been resistant to the numerous offers from other firms courting it for consolidation. “LarsonAllen was different,” says Sibley. “Right away we knew they’d be a great partner in bringing our clients the talent and tools they need to be successful. And with the CliftonLarsonAllen proposition to deliver privately held businesses and their owners a new level of commitment, the deal became even more attractive. This means good things for the people I serve and employ.”
Sibley, who primarily serves entrepreneurs and their business interests and families, says his firm’s clients will benefit from LarsonAllen’s deep industry specialization, particularly in the manufacturing and retail arenas. He cites international and multistate tax services, information technology, internal audit and control capabilities, and an expanded geographic footprint as some of the enhancements of the combination. “I have been especially impressed with the caliber of both LarsonAllen’s and Clifton Gunderson’s people,” he says. “The talent pool is immense, and it’s exciting that my clients will have access to that heightened level of knowledge and experience.”
Sibley & Company has provided tax, audit, and consulting services to high-net worth businesses and their owners since 1987, when Sibley started as a solo practitioner. He grew his firm to 10 people by 2008 and acquired Freemon Shapard & Story’s Dallas office in 2009. Sibley brings a staff of 10 to LarsonAllen, including four CPAs.
