Karen Gries Solidifies National Tax-Exempt Practice With Relocation
Karen Gries
Karen Gries, leader of LarsonAllen’s tax services for exempt organizations, has relocated from the firm’s headquarters in Minneapolis to its Washington DC office. She is responsible for the development and delivery of tax preparation and consulting services to the firm’s nonprofit and health care clients.
“Karen’s move to Washington DC will complement our national tax-exempt practice leadership here to better serve and advise our clients nationwide,” says John Langan, principal-in-charge of LarsonAllen's nonprofit and government practice.
Gries has more than 20 years of public accounting experience with nonprofit organizations, including public charities, private foundations, higher education, health care, senior living, arts, and social welfare. She provides corporate tax review services, intermediate-sanction analysis and application, and planning and reporting of unrelated business income.
Gries was recently named to the IRS Advisory Committee on Tax Exempt and Government Entities (ACT) for the 2010-2012 term. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants (MNCPA), and the Nonprofit Financial Group (NFG). She is a frequent speaker at various industry events and conferences.
