Chrobak Deepens LarsonAllen’s Health Care Audit and Reimbursement Practice
Pete Chrobak
—Pete Chrobak, CPA, has joined LarsonAllen’s Charlotte office as a health care assurance engagement specialist, bringing solid industry consultative, supervisory, and field experience to both the local and national teams.
As an assurance engagement specialist, Chrobak will work with health care providers of all varieties, with particular emphasis on hospitals and health systems. He will also serve as a resource to the industry group as a quality audit and reimbursement reviewer and manage more complex engagements.
“I’m eager to take my experience in Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and put it to work for our clients, especially during this time of unprecedented change in the health care industry,” says Chrobak. “Proper cost reporting can increase providers’ cash flow and enhance revenues, I’m looking forward to sharing ideas with my new LarsonAllen colleagues so we can maximize those opportunities for the organizations we serve.”
Chrobak was previously an audit and assurance supervisor for an accounting firm in Columbia, South Carolina, where his services included interim spending level reviews (cost-based reimbursement), Medicaid and Medicare cost reporting, bad debt log consultation, preparation of extended repayment plan requests, and review of Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) correspondence. He has built strong working relationships with CMS intermediaries, state auditors, state departments of health and human services agents, and other health care industry professionals.

Chrobak received a bachelor of science in accounting from Pennsylvania State University’s Behrend College. His professional affiliations include membership in the American Institute of Public Accountants (AICPA) and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accounts (SCACPA). He also served as an inaugural member of SCACPA’s Young CPA Leadership Cabinet (2009–2010).
